Mrs. K. Soon Choi, Founder and Principal

Mrs. Choi (MA, English Literature) is the Founder and Principal of the School.  She has been a Montessori teacher for more than 20 years in the Edison-Metuchen area, with a strong reputation for excellence.  She is a devoted Christian with ample love that she shares with children. 

Ms. Monique Derflinger, Head Teacher for Stepping Stone

Ms. Monique been working as an Infant-Toddler program headteacher for 12 years. She was trained at PCTE (Montessori Princeton Center for Teacher Education).  For the past 30 years Monique has taken care of many young children including her own four grown up children and her grand daughter.  She grew up in France where she taught children with special needs and traveled in different countries singing in an international choir.

Ms. Hanna Meyer, Bible Teacher

Ms. Hanna received a graduate degree in history education from Pensacola Christian college.  She is initially from Dominican Republic and teaches the Bible.  She also teaches Spanish as a part of our enrichment program.

Ms. Shalini Varma, Co-Head Teacher for Pre-Primary II

Ms. Shalini is an Co-Head teacher in the Pre-Primary class.  She holds an MBA degree, and is on her way to achieve a Montessori teacher certificate. 
Ms. Prajakta Tilak, Assistant Teacher for Stepping Stone

Ms. Prajakta has earned her Early Childhood Montessori Certification from Princeton Center for Teacher Education  (PCTE). She strongly believes in the Montessori philosophy and as a parent she has experienced it's positive effect in her child's cognitive development too. She feels she can connect to the children and communicate with them in a way that they feel comfortable.  Ms. Prajakta has a good knowledge of what can be a good children literature and how we can transform the personalities through effective book reading and storytelling. She is also deeply interested in the art of storytelling too.
Ms. Jyothi Bengeri, Head Teacher for Pre-Primary I

Sujyothi Bengeri is a certified Montessori teacher and also holds a BS degree in science from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. She has excellent knowledge in Montessori principles as well a methods of teaching. She is interested in drawing, painting, and interior designing. She is also passionate about teaching, organizing, and creating innovative activities for students.

Mr. Michael Choi, Administrator

Mr. Michael is the Director/Administrator of our school.  He is in charge of all administrative matters including school licensing at the State and Township level, membership and teacher training in professional organizations, and developing and keeping the information system of the school.  He graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences.
Ms. Priya Edwin, Assistant  Teacher for Pre-Primary

Ms.Priya has earned her Montessori teacher certification training from United Montessori Association and also has completed her Masters in commerce. Prior to her Montessori training Ms Priya worked at Deutche Bank & BNP Paribha in their trade settlements & Operations groups.  She loves spending time with kids and is passionate about Montessori methodology of education. When she is not around kids, she loves to cook and listen to music and likes scarp booking.

Ms. Crisol-Irisl Lantz, Head Teacher for Kindergarten

Graduated from Kean University with a BA in Early Childhood and Fine Arts, Ms. Lantz has been working in the urban public school setting for 8 years, nurturing and educating children from preschool to third grade, including those with special needs.  She engage and care for children with the same expectation she has for her own two young girls, 3 years old and 1 year old.  She knows the importance of early childhood education and that is why when she had to go back to work she made sure her daughters would be getting a Montessori education and that is where she became inspired to attain a Montessori certification as well.  Her passion is in facilitating an engaging, creative, and nurturing environment for young children.
Ms. Shauna Park, Music Teacher

Ms. Shauna has been a music teacher for over 15 years.  Her students have ranged from K-Adult.  She received her Bachelors in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music and a Masters in Music Education from Boston University.  She specializes in private voice, piano, choir, songwriting, lyric writing, and general music education.  She has taught in many private owned music and theater schools while songwriting for the music industry.  Her current students are industry professionals.  Many of them can be seen on Broadway or on television.  Now as a mother of two boys, Shauna hopes to continue educating young individuals with the help of Montessori and through the love of music.
